Magazine Publisher Analysis
There are many different magazine publishers, the one that I will be accessing will be IPC or more commonly known as TimeIncUK. Looking at how they have been doing over the recent years, they are doing rather well, selling at massive total of 350 million magazines every year. IPC are not just magazine bound, they have spread out over the recent years to create books, newspapers and special magazines that are classified as ‘trade and technical’ for important uses. Within their magazine industry is a large variety of different copies that they sell, some of this variety include Teen Now, Woman’s Own, Chat Passion, Now, What’s On TV Woman’s Weekly and so many more!
Different Divisions Of IPC’s Magazines!
1) Lifestyle – Soap life, TV & Satellite Week, TV Easy and many more for everyday use.
2) Luxury – Marie Clair, InStyle, Wallpaper, Looks, Home Improvements and many more that some people may use and look at when looking
at redesigning or reworking a room or their own personal look.
3) Specialist – Country Life, Cycling Week, Mountain Bike Rider, Cycling Sport, Golf Monthly, Rugby World, Yachting and many more that are pushing away from the home life and to the wide world.
IPC have also a wide audience variety, by this I mean that their magazines have different sections, Lifestyle, Luxury and specialist. Lifestyle is more focused on women on a mass scale, luxury is set for the upper class of women and a few men and finally their specialist section is designed for men, this could vary from middle to upper class.
Questionnaire Analysis
Questionnaire analysis:
From the results of the questionnaire we can clearly see that most people do not read any form of college magazine. This means that the products does not actually work for whatever reason.
From the questionnaire we can also tell what colours people want. The colours are as followed; Red (The most popular), Black, White and Blue (This being the least favoured). This means that my magazine will contains 3 of the listed colours. These will most probably be White, Red and Black as these were the most popular out of all the colours.
When it comes to how often we produce the product, 30% of the people said they would like it termly and 30% said they would like it monthly. To decide what one to go for I looked at how often people would like it fortnightly and added it to monthly and it totalled to 50% which meant I went for the monthly option.
It is quite difficult to decide on a price but in the end I went for the 50p option for one reason, this reason is because in the magazine there will be discount codes and offers which meant I would charge for the magazine.

Location/Props/Costumes
Location:
I will need to take images to place on my front cover. To do so I will need to find a suitable location, a location that will have good enough light and scenery to make my image fit my front cover. The location I have chosen is that college drama studio, I have picked this location because it has light that can be changed to suit my liking, and this means I can take quite an interesting image, I have a few in mind that will surely suit my liking and my magazine. Because we can control the light, it means that we would be able to manipulate the background also to our liking, as in we could have a birds eye view with the light. Without these features, I feel like my audience would be drawn away if the image if not to a relatable standard.
Props/costumes:
When getting my image, I will not need any props or costumes. I do not need any props as I feel like this would ruin the magazine’s image as props would not work with the image I am trying to create.
